What Is Recovery? – Eating Disorder Video #17

I created this video because a lot of people talk about “recovery” and being in or out of recovery from an eating disorder. I wanted to make sure that when I use the term recovery, you know what I mean by it. First of all I want to acknowledge that recovery is different for everyone. No one person will have the same experience with recoveryyou may share similar feelings about it, but ultimately it is your own unique experience. Also, I want to clarify that recovery is not black and white!! You may be doing well for a few days and then have a really “badED day. You may only be thinking about recovery and so to you recovery is just the thought of a better life without your ED voice always yelling at you. Whatever recovery is to you, let me know. I think of recovery as the process of deciding not to follow what your ED says. That doesn’t mean that you won’t get tripped up at times, but you really notice what your ED is saying and you try to not listen. Sometimes it can help, if you are in the beginning stages, to think of a reason to recover. Not just “I don’t want to be sick anymore” but a real tangible reason. For example, I would like to see my sister’s child or I would like to get married someday, or I would like to see my child graduate. Whatever it is, remind yourself of it every day. Maybe put up some pictures or post it notes (you know how I love those) to remind yourself. It is a process and anything we can do to make it easier is a good thing! Share this video

Fewer than one in 10 children in the UK are eating enough fish to meet health guidelines and worse still, a staggering 87% of youngsters do not eat oily fish, according to new study data just out. The results are especially worrying because of fresh evidence linking a key ingredient found in fish and fish oil supplementsomega-3 – with a significant boost to mental and physical health in unborn babies as well as infants and children. Dr Carrie Ruxton & Dr Catherine Hood look at how to solve the problem of getting kids who won’t eat fish to get the benefits of those essential oils. In the latest research , commissioned by children’s supplement brand Haliborange, makers of a range of Omega-3 supplements for babies, toddlers, children and teenagers, more than 1000 parents of children aged from under one to 16 from across the UK were quizzed about their youngstersdiets. The study paints a startling picture of children’s fish eating habits across the nation.

Francesca is 5 1/2 years old. She was born into a family who follows the Blood Type Diet for quite a while. At her young age, Francesca can independently select the foods that are right for her type (Type O). As a home schooled child, she spends lots of time with her parents and baby brother at home and traveling, so it is very important for all of them to be aware of what foods give them energy and brings them happiness. Exercise is also part of their daily lives, so they spend a lot of time out in the fresh air at their farm home.

Feeding the Baby If the baby is being nursed by the mother, it provides all the nourishment to the baby and provides the baby protection from various diseases. Breast-feeding is the ideal way to begin, firstly because of all the nourishment and milk that mothers milk contains, but also because it brings the baby and the mother automatically closer. Babies love to be cuddled, and it is important that they get enough attention. Once the weaning begins, baby health care takes another turn.
